Project Background

KGJ Price Railway Contractors were contacted by the Permanent Way Institute outlining the desire to facilitate a social value challenge whereby industry colleagues not interfacing on track works regularly could have the opportunity to engage and develop in a controlled environment on rail infrastructure.

Alongside Network Rail, Colas Rail and Quattro Plant, KGJ Price Railway Contractors provided additional labour support in the form of Personal Track Safety staff, Engineers and free issue material to bring this project to life.

Attend T Minus meetings hosted by Colas Rail, the collaborative effort was seamless from inception to delivery where all participants were able to take part in everyday track works.

Key Deliverables

Diligent planning and delivery with the utmost consideration to safety whilst working alongside members of the public. Attendance at planning and integration meetings, on site delivery and installation working under a 24 Hour delivery timescale, supply of specialist supervision, PTS operatives and engineers to undertake loose lay build up of 52 meters of plain line, spot re-sleepering of 62 Hardwood Sleepers and platform gauging.
