Track Engineer

Charlie joined KGJ Price in November 2025 as a Track Engineer, bringing seven years of experience within the rail industry. He began his career in 2018 as a Trackman, developing a strong hands-on understanding of permanent way works before progressing into engineering-focused roles.

His career path includes positions as an Engineering Assistant and Trainee P-Way Engineer with Balfour Beatty, followed by Senior Technical Officer at Network Rail. This broad experience enables Charlie to effectively bridge site delivery and technical assurance, supporting projects from design through to delivery.

At KGJ Price, Charlie works closely with the Lead Engineer (Track CRE), supporting the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of permanent way works in line with Network Rail and client standards.

Key Skills & Contributions

Supports the Lead Engineer (Track CRE) in the design, assurance, and delivery of permanent way works
Undertakes site inspections, track surveys, geometry checks, and track monitoring activities
Contributes to track monitoring programmes, including data capture, analysis, and reporting
Assists with the preparation of method statements, work package plans, and engineering documentation
Liaises with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure clear communication and compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
